This kit includes everything you need to achieve a lower stance and improved ride quality. Belltech’s Street Performance complete lowering kits are designed to provide your sport truck or SUV with the look you want and the performance, safety, and ride quality you need. The kit includes all the parts, pieces, and shock absorbers required for lowering your vehicle by 1 to 3 inches in the front and 5.5 inches at the rear. This all-in-one solution simplifies the purchase process and ensures compatibility with your truck. We spent the weekend installing this kit on our 2020 Ford F-150 crew cab before bolting on a new set of Intro wheels for a killer combo. The stance is perfect, the ride is smooth, and it handles better than stock thanks to the new beefier Belltech sway bar. This kit is engineered perfectly and is designed for a simple DIY install in your driveway. Let’s dive in and see the process.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The first thing we did was find a smooth and level spot to park our truck before engaging the parking brake. These complete lowering kits are your all-in-one box solution. All the Grade 8 installation hardware and alignment pieces necessary to achieve the advertised lowering amount is included—choosing your kit has never been simpler. This kit provides a lowering range of +1 to -3 inches up front and 5.5 inches at the rear. We are also installing a new beefy sway bar from Belltech. The reduction of the boat-like body roll, which keeps the body flat in the turns, creates a more confident and safe driving experience. First step is to lift the truck using a jack, secure it on jack stands, and remove the wheels. We started on the rear first by removing the rear leaf spring U-bolts. Next, we unbolted the front leaf spring hangers to install the new drop shackles. The leaf spring needed to come out completely in order to install the axle flip kit mount, which will place the leaf under the axle instead of above it. The axle mount simply bolts to the leaf spring with the provided hardware. Before we reinstalled the leaf spring, we needed to bolt in this new drop shackle. Now we could slide the leaf spring back into place mounting it below the axle. The upper axle mount was simply set into place and we could reinstall the new U-bolts. Belltech also provided a new bumpstop that is shorter than the one from the factory. Assembly is very simple and smooth thanks to the great parts from QA1. No spring compressor was needed, and we will see the final height once the parts are installed. Now we could move to the front. The first step was to disconnect the upper control arm by removing the ball joint bolt. Next, we could remove the front strut by unbolting the bottom and top mounts. After reinstalling the brake caliper, we used a level on the brake rotor to ensure the install went correctly. Everything checked out just right! With the new strut assembled, we simply slid it back into the factory location and bolted it back in. No cutting or drilling is needed for this install. Now it’s time to install the new beefy sway bar in the rear. We did have to drill some holes for the sway bar endlinks, but this step took no time at all with the right-sized drill bit. Bolting in the endlinks would give us the mounts for the sway bar. Assembling the sway bar mounts should be done before placing the sway bar into the truck. We adjusted the endlinks to the proper length based on the instructions provided by Belltech. The sway bar looks as good as it performs, and we couldn’t wait to rip this truck around some tight corners to test it out. With the kit fully installed, we could now bolt on these killer Intro wheels. The final look is perfect and the stance is exactly what we were hoping for. Now time to get an alignment and go drive it! The stance is perfect, the ride is smooth, and it handles better than stock thanks to the new beefier Belltech sway bar.
