The 1985 Chevy Squarebody before additional upgrades. The rearend is yet to be installed, and the bed is partially assembled, leaving room for further customization. 2. Exciting Engine Upgrade: The new 6.2-liter Chevy Connect and cruise engine and transmission package from Scoggin Dickey Motorsports adds power and performance to the Sergeant Square build. In addition to the powertrain upgrade, we have collaborated with Salvage to Savage to further enhance the truck’s customization. The crew there will be assembling the bed and welding up a custom bed floor, adding a unique touch to the Sergeant Square build. This charity project aims to raise funds for Mission 22, an organization dedicated to combatting veteran suicide. The profits generated from the sale of the completed truck will be donated to this noble cause. To ensure maximum impact, Street Trucks plans to unveil the fully restored Sergeant Square at SEMA 2023, providing an exclusive first look to an enthusiastic audience. 3. With some fabricating needed that is out of our skillset, we dropped off the truck at Salvage to Savage in Boca Raton, Florida, for a few important updates. 4. After fully assembling the bedsides, Mickey cut the additional LMC bed floor pieces to fit around the step notch and welded them in place. Since our last update, significant progress has been made on the project. We have acquired a brand-new chassis from All American Chassis and sourced various parts from LMC Truck. The front and rear suspension have been assembled with components from QA1 Suspension. The selection of wheels and engine, particularly the Scoggin Dickey Motorsports 6.2-liter Chevy Connect and Cruise package, guarantees that the Sergeant Square will be the ultimate Squarebody stud. 5. With the long, tedious task of welding all this sheetmetal complete, we can see the final look of the bed floor. It’s sleek and low, just like we hoped. For those interested in learning more about Mission 22 and its vital mission, please visit its official website at Mission22.com. This extraordinary initiative combines automotive design excellence with charitable giving, making a significant impact in the fight against veteran suicide. 6. Mickey and crew also welded the rear axle to the axle mounts and correctly centered the housing before installing everything. What a shame this artwork will be hidden under the bed floor. 7. To cover the welds, Mickey sprayed a coating of Poppy’s Spray Truck Bedliner (Black). This stuff is a versatile and reliable solution that safeguards against rust, corrosion, salt, dampness, and extreme temperatures. With easy application and excellent adhesion, this kit includes everything you need for a professional-grade bedliner, including four cans of bedliner (Part A), one bed liner catalyst (Part B, 4-quart kit), and a convenient spray gun. 8. Poppy’s Bed Liner can be applied with a Schutz gun. Simply add hardener, shake, and spray. It can also be rolled or brushed on. 9. It’s a very simple process that lays down smooth and even the first time. 10. Now that the bed is fully welded and coated, it’s time to put it back on the All American chassis. 11. It’s finally time to set the truck down and see how the bed looks with new bed mounts and Wilwood brakes. The first look is at the Motortopia Showoff Series where Mission 22 will see the truck for the very first time! 12. Success! We made it to the first check point on our way to SEMA. The truck looks amazing so far and we cant wait to do some burnouts! 13. Carley Hill from Mission 22 was on site at the Motortopia Showoff event at Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing for the very first look.
