What is one of the best things about getting back to normal? Truck shows and seeing all of our friends old and new back together doing what they love again! Relaxin’ in the Park gave many exactly that. Obviously there have been a few good-sized shows in various parts of the country in the past few months, but around here this is one of the first in a while! Subscribe to our weekly newsletter One of everyone’s favorite parts of the show weekend is the cruise that happens that evening. Everyone dragging the multi-mile strip into sundown, and that is when you see all those mini-trucks turn on their underglow, bringing us all back in time! The second annual Relaxin’ in the Park took place in St. Louis, Missouri, the weekend of May 21-23. Friday evening gives vehicle owners some time to get checked in if they got into town before the evening at the showgrounds, but also consists of a pre-party down the street from the host hotel. A fun chance to enjoy some food, drinks, music, and get a peek at a bunch of the weekend’s show vehicles. Saturday morning rolls around, and at the host hotel you could hear the air compressors running by 8 am as everyone started making their way on the short easy drive to the park venue down the road. The day started a little on the humid side, but considering the time of year, it was pretty darn nice for the end of May in the Midwest. As vehicles checked into the show they rolled through judging on their way to park, and it was smooth sailing from there. More than 400 vehicles came in during the weekend from all around the country for this show. Awards were given in many categories such as the Top 50, the Elite 10, Best Paint and a handful of others, too. One of everyone’s favorite parts of the show weekend is the cruise that happens that evening. Everyone dragging the multi-mile strip into sundown, and that is when you see all those mini-trucks turn on their underglow, bringing us all back in time! Sunday morning the show starts up again with awards in the afternoon before everyone heads back to wherever they came from with a slight sunburn and a smile. Be sure to make plans to attend next year if you haven’t already, the weekend of May 20-22! See you there!!
