As the owner of 15 show vehicles, he has a lot to choose from when taking a cruise on the weekends, but his ’72 Blazer is on his short list of favorites, and also happens to be the latest one completed! Taking just under a year to build from the ground up, his roadster is among the cleanest, most detailed and most unique we’ve come across. “Taking just under a year to build from the ground up, his roadster is among the cleanest, most detailed and most unique we’ve come across. ”Subscribe to our weekly newsletter 22-INCH BUDNIK V2 BILLET WHEELS FROM THE COMPANY’S G-SERIES LINE ARE THE PERFECT CHOICE FOR HENRY’S BLAZER, AND ARE AS SMOOTH AS THE REST OF HIS RIDE! AT FIRST GLANCE, IT MAY JUST LOOK LIKE THE TAILGATE HAS A GIANT “ROADSTER” EMBLEM ON IT, WHICH IS DOES. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, HOWEVER, YOU’LL ALSO NOTICE THAT THE EMBLEM WAS INDENTED INTO THE MOLDED TAILGATE SKIN — NO SMALL FEAT! With the expertise of Justin Arnold of Air Art, Henry refined his vision for the ultimate Blazer and let Justin take over from there. He began by stripping it down to nothing, then rebuilding it part by part with all brand-new hardware. The chassis received just about everything Classic Performance Products offers, from a 5/6 lowering kit with tubular arms to four-wheel disc brakes, and the rear end was narrowed 6 inches to make enough room to tuck the wide 22-inch Budnik billet wheels out back, which wear 305/40ZR22 Toyo rubber. THE AMAZING INTERIOR WAS A COLLABORATION BETWEEN JUSTIN AT AUTO AIR AND ELI’S AUTO TRIM, AND WAS COMPLETELY CUSTOM BUILT. Henry really scored when it came to the drivetrain, as he was able to come up on a 2017 LS3 out of a Camaro SS, which is dressed from head to toe in polished billet accessories. Some minor tweaks (namely, aftermarket headers, air intake, and a mild tune) bumped the output up to 465 horsepower from the factory 435, which is hardly a problem for the Speartech-built 6L80 six-speed automatic. As you’ll notice, however, the most outrageous parts of Henry’s ride are its amazing sheet metal and interior, which certainly stand out when compared to most Blazers of the era. What you may not have noticed at first glance, however, is exactly what was done to achieve this uniqueness. For one, the doors were cut down about 2 inches to match the bedsides, and the factory handle holes were shaved. In their place, Kindig It Design door handles were grafted in, and sit flush for ultimate smoothness. Well actually, there’s a lot more smoothness going on, like the molded custom grille, roll pans, and tailgate skin, as well as the chopped A-pillars. Then there’s the addition of the ’68 Camaro vents in the hood. And speaking of vents, you can’t miss the modified 2016 Cadillac fender vents and trim that were custom fit to the ’68 fenders, with matching body lines shaped into the Blazer’s sheet metal. Topping off the wild exterior is the awesome VW Aquarius Blue paintjob with silver leaf graphics, as well as the large-and-in-charge custom-made indented “Roadster” emblem on the back. “One of the things we appreciate most on Henry’s Blazer is the bed, which is beyond glorious with its quilted panels and chrome slats, as well as the buttery smooth matte-painted floor and fender wells.” And where do we even begin with the interior? Not a single factory bit remains, with just about everything being custom built especially for Henry’s Blazer. To get an interior of this caliber completed, Justin teamed up with Eli’s Auto Trim to design and build everything from scratch. The bucket seats and custom panels have been shaped and covered in beige and brown leathers, and the dashboard was shaved and customized extensively. Justin also built a smooth center console, which houses the Pioneer head unit, power window switches, and wraps around the seats to isolate the cockpit from the bed area. Talk about trick! Even with all that going on, one of the things we appreciate most on Henry’s Blazer is the bed, which is beyond glorious with its quilted panels and chrome slats, as well as the buttery smooth matte-painted floor and fender wells. It just doesn’t get any cleaner! A FULLY DRESSED LS3 OUT OF A 2017 CAMARO SS WITH ONLY FOUR MILES ON THE CLOCK WAS SWAPPED INTO THE BLAZER’S ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE MIRRORED HOOD ADDS YET ANOTHER DIMENSION TO THIS CRAZY CLEAN BLAZER’S CUSTOM APPEAL. As much as we’ve told you about Henry’s Blazer, there’s so much more going on that we just didn’t have room to mention, so be sure to study the photos in detail to find all the hidden gems!
