What draws us in and keeps us coming back for more? For some, it’s showing off their works of art; for others, it’s the conversations; and for some of us older folks, it’s the heritage and history and all of the above! The Ozark Mountain Run has been hosted deep in the heart of the Ozark Mountains in Branson, Missouri, annually now for more than three decades. That’s 31 years that Ford truck enthusiasts have been coming together, sharing their stories and passion for our favorite “money pits,” and sharing the fellowship of the pain and dedication that the love of man and machine have formed through the years.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The Ozark Mountain Run has passed on that Ford truck fever for generations. This show is a nostalgic gathering in more ways than one. Held on July 12 and 13, 2019, everyone met up on Friday for the annual cruise down historic Branson’s Highway 76 strip. The show began on Saturday, with Ford trucks ranging from pre F-series, fridges, slicks and bumps to dents. If you have ever owned a classic Ford truck, chances are you have heard of this special gathering. Every year, hundreds of Ford diehards make the trek from all over the Midwest and beyond. The show features traditions and contests like stopping on a dime, the slow drag and others that all take place throughout the weekend of family fun—but not before taking a moment to put our hands over our hearts to the sound of our Pledge of Allegiance radiating through the mountains, honoring fallen heroes, veterans and those who are currently serving. Ozark Mountain Run has truly captured what automotive enthusiasts love about American and automotive history. Enjoying sights and sounds of every generation of classic Ford truck, all of our senses are affected from the sight of original Detroit steel, to the sound of the startling Y-block engines and the smell of old upholstery with that slight hint of gasoline. It’s an experience one can only truly understand if they suffer from a classic case of Ford truck fever. Each truck owner passes down what they have learned and loved about their trucks and telling the story to the next generation to keep it alive for generations to come!
