Upgrade Your ’68-72 Bumpside: How to Install a Billet Double DIN Radio Bezel

’68-72 Bumpside Billet Double DIN Radio Bezel Install

In the heart of classic Ford truck restoration, there’s a delicate balance between preserving heritage and embracing modernity. Solos Mfg. recently released a billet double DIN bezel designed to be just that for 1968-’72 Bumpside F-Series enthusiasts.

The bezel is crafted entirely from high-grade billet aluminum for durability and elegance. This choice of material not only ensures longevity, but also adds a touch of sophistication to the truck’s interior, blending with the classic aesthetics that F-Series owners cherish.

The double DIN bezel accommodates modern 7-inch double DIN head units along with all aftermarket air conditioning controls. This integration allows truck owners to enjoy the latest in entertainment and climate control technology without disrupting the vintage charm of their vehicle’s interior.

Solos Mfg. has also developed a unique 3D printed installation tool included with each bezel. This tool simplifies the installation process, ensuring that enthusiasts of all experience levels can achieve a professional-grade finish without the need for specialized workshop tools.

04. You can see the cut lines that were drawn onto the original metal.
05. We cut on the lines and cleaned up the edges.
06. The billet bezel was then fit into place (the dash might have to be filed for a perfect fit).
07. Next, we drilled out the mounting holes.
08. This is what it looked like prior to installing the bezel.
09. Here is what the bezel install looked like completed. It works with all 7-inch double DIN radios and A/C knobs.
