PLEASANTON, Calif. (December 14, 2021) – Goodguys, America’s favorite car show, today announced it has teamed up with renowned custom car and chassis builder Roadster Shop for its 2022/2023 Goodguys giveaway vehicle, a custom 1988 Chevy Silverado. Following the unveiling of the completed truck at the Goodguys 24th Summit Racing Nationals on July 10, 2022, the giveaway truck will be on display at all remaining Goodguys events until the winner of the truck is announced at the same Columbus, Ohio event in 2023.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The 2022/2023 giveaway 1988 Chevrolet Silverado will ride on Roadster Shop’s all-new Old Body Style (OBS) chassis that was unveiled at the 2021 SEMA show in Las Vegas this November. The resto-modded ‘80s-themed truck will be thoroughly customized inside and out by Roadster Shop and incorporate products from many of the leading aftermarket manufacturers that display at Goodguys events. “Goodguys giveaway vehicles are a huge hit with members and show attendees,” said Andrew Ebel, COO of Goodguys Rod & Custom Association. “Our goal with this Silverado build is to celebrate the new 25-year eligibility that will open our gates to the massive community of collector cars from the late 1980s and 1990s. This is just one step in the evolution of our events that will help highlight new trends and attract a new generation of builders and enthusiasts to our shows.” The new 25-year cutoff, which takes effect beginning with the first event of the 2022 Goodguys schedule, moves from the current 1987-and-older eligibility rule to a rolling 25-year eligibility, thus allowing owners of newer classic and custom American and American-powered vehicles to share their passion for the ever-evolving car culture landscape. For the Goodguys 2022 National event series, this new rule allows any vehicle from 1997 or prior to be eligible to participate all weekend long, not just during Meguiar’s All-American Sunday. The 2021/2022 Goodguys Giveaway Vehicle, a 1985 Chevrolet C-10 Squarebody built by Goolsby Customs customized with a Chevrolet Performance LT1 crate engine from Pace Performance, Gearstar 4L65E transmission and a custom paint job using BASF materials, will be given away the day after the debut of the Silverado OBS giveaway vehicle at the 2022 Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals, presented by PPG, on Sunday July 10, 2022. Existing and new registered Goodguys members are automatically entered into the Goodguys giveaway vehicle drawing. In addition, entries can be made via registering a vehicle as a Show Car at any Goodguys event or online by visiting www.good-guys.com/promos/c10-giveaway.
