Driving Mexico’s Restomod Revolution

FROM a small mechanic shop in Aguascalientes, Mexico, to a powerhouse in the world of custom automotive builds, Luis Urzua has always had a passion for cars. Inspired by years of watching American influence shape the custom scene, Luis decided to push the limits and make his mark in the industry.

In just three years, Autoclinic Restomod has emerged as a leader in custom automotive restoration and modification.

In just three years, Autoclinic Restomod has emerged as a leader in custom automotive restoration and modification. The shop has already earned back-to-back Custom Truck of the Year awards at Goodguys Fort Worth and was a contender at SEMA 2024’s Battle of the Builders. With plans to showcase at the Grand National Roadster Show in 2025, Luis and his team show no signs of slowing down.

Luis founded Autoclinic Restomod with the vision of delivering high-quality custom restorations that rival trends from the US—all while overcoming the challenge of limited parts availability in Mexico. Leveraging SolidWorks, his team meticulously designs and mocks up every detail of a build to ensure a seamless blend of form and function. Safety and durability remain top priorities, with every component tailored to meet the client’s needs.

The shop’s process is a testament to precision and innovation. In-house renderings come to life with laser-cut and hand-welded components, from gas tanks and tubs to any custom metalwork a project requires. Autoclinic also houses a complete team of experts specializing in bodywork, mechanical upgrades, and paint, ensuring every build stays risk-free. To top it off, local audio and interior craftsmen collaborate on-site, creating truly comprehensive custom builds.

Autoclinic’s portfolio speaks for itself, ranging from classic restorations like Broncos and C10s to groundbreaking builds that push the envelope.

Autoclinic’s portfolio speaks for itself, ranging from classic restorations like Broncos and C10s to groundbreaking builds that push the envelope. Their recent showstopper, the Impossible Blazer, turned heads at SEMA, while their transformation of a wrecked Hellcat into a vintage Charger proves there’s nothing they can’t tackle.

As Autoclinic Restomod cements its reputation in Mexico, it’s clear that Luis Urzua and his team are destined for global recognition. With a relentless drive for perfection and innovation, they’re shaping the future of custom automotive craftsmanship—one build at a time.
