Fox Live Valve Tech Levels Up Ranger Raptor The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor is designed to be the most powerful and high-performance, off-road capable Ranger ever. It’s engineered to take off-road capability to the next level among midsize trucks. The heart of every Ford Raptor performance vehicle is the suspension, and the Ranger Raptor’s class-exclusive 2.5-inch Fox Live Valve shocks work to help chase the horizon with its internal bypass shocks actively managing damping across harsh terrain. Ranger’s next-generation shocks are coilovers at the front and piggyback reservoirs at the rear to reduce heat buildup for uninterrupted performance all day long. The Fox Live Valve Internal Bypass system changes damping performance based on Ranger Raptor’s drive modes. The modes include normal, tow/haul, sport, slippery, off-road, rock crawl, and Baja, all developed to provide better on-road comfort, off-road control, capability, and ride quality at high and low speeds. The front frame rails, front shock towers, rear shock brackets, suspension mounting points, and other key areas have all been specially reinforced so the Ranger Raptor can handle more punishing off-road conditions. Honda Ridgeline Completes First Trophy Truck Baja 1000 Run The Honda Off-Road Racing Team returned to Baja California, but now competing for the overall race win in the premier Trophy Truck category in the 56th running of the BF Goodrich SCORE Baja 1000. At the end of more than 1,300 miles of racing the length of the Baja peninsula, starting and finishing driver Ethan Ebert brought the new Honda Baja Ridgeline home 11th in a field of 22 Trophy Trucks and 323 total entries. The Baja Ridgeline was unique in the category as the only turbocharged V-6 entry in Trophy Truck, with the rest of the field powered by large displacement, normally aspirated V-8s. At just 17, Ebert was the youngest driver in the Trophy Truck field and headed a four-driver Baja Ridgeline lineup that included Richard Glasczak, Chip Prescott, and Bobby Smith. Prior to running for the overall victory this year in the premier Trophy Truck category, the Honda Ridgeline Baja Race Truck had four previous Class 7 wins (for V-6-powered trucks) in the Baja 1000 and five class wins in the Baja 500. In addition to the nine class victories, the Ridgeline also twice finished second in the Baja 1000, and third once in the “500.” The Honda Off-Road Racing program began in 2015 with a class win in the Baja 1000. The Honda Baja Ridgeline has gone on to record 17 class victories in 38 races.
