Dino Battilana is a hardworking business owner during the day and one of the most hardcore Bowtie believers in the country. Building badass trucks and having friends over to your house for a cookout is satisfying enough for most men, but not for Dino. A once-per-year gathering of gearheads with limits on the line-up and no money needed is more his style. No registration and no admission are necessary—just show up hungry and be ready to talk trucks! For the last 10 years, he has been doing that exact concept, and the whole country is taking notice.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The 2019 Git Down brought out 1,620 Chevrolet/GMC trucks from all over the U.S. How impressive is that? If you happened to be one of the first 1,500 trucks to attend, you received a sweet Git Down 2019 window sticker in your goodie bag! This year is looking to be even bigger, and the team has decided to extend the official event to two days. Another adjustment to this year’s event is opening up the acceptable truck year range to include 1947-1998 Chevrolet/GMC trucks. That’s right—no Fords allowed! Even though the 2019 event was promoted as a singleday event, there were plenty of other cool things to do before and after the show. The weekend’s events broke down like this: Tre 5 Customs hosted a pre-show mixer on the Thursday before the Git Down. Friday was the official day of the event. Saturday morning was a cruise over to Switch Suspension to see some behind-the-scenes magic and to eat some BBQ around the trucks. And Saturday night was the official 21-and-over after party at Salt, Tacos and Tequila. Describe a better weekend than that!
