A SEMA Stunner Built to Break Necks

A Delmonico Red 2023 Ram 1500 Laramie cruising low to the ground is bound to catch anyone’s eye, and this one’s got SEMA written all over it. Slammed to perfection with custom metalwork and killer details, this Ram was built for the spotlight in just four months, with $50,000 invested to make it a true showstopper.

The owner, Thomas Harris Jr. from Gonzales, Louisiana, jumped at the opportunity when a buddy looking to grow his business gave him the chance to turn his dream into reality.

“It has always been a goal to do a SEMA build,” Thomas said. “So when the opportunity came up, I took it.”

And it’s clear this build was done right.

The first thing you notice is how low the truck sits, thanks to custom crossmembers built by Grounded Innovations. Paired with a front and rear air-ride kit from Nfamus Metal and Air Lift Performance 3P air-management system, it sits right on the frame. The setup includes Slam Specialties SS7 air bags, dual Viair 480 compressors, and a pair of 28-inch billet air tanks from FLO Airride, ensuring smooth control over the stance.

The exterior is all about big wheels and bigger style. The  26-inch US Mag Sniper wheels are wrapped in VersaTyre TRX 6000 tires, with 9-inch wide fronts and 12-inch rears. To make room for the massive rollers, the front and rear wheelwells were tubbed, and the oil filter was  relocated. And for some additional style, the headlight guts were painted to match that slick red body.

Under the hood, the 5.7L V-8 remains factory, but has been upgraded with a MagnaFlow exhaust system with 3-inch pipes for a throatier growl. Braking power comes from Rotora eight-piston slotted brakes in the front and four-piston brakes in the rear, providing solid stopping power.

Inside, Thomas had the seats wrapped in maroon Alea leather to match the truck’s color scheme. The custom interior work was also handled by Grounded Innovations, completing the build with the same level of detail found on the outside.

Thomas cruises this truck to big events like Lone Star Throwdown, Scrapin’ the Coast, and the Grand Finale. While he’s proud of the build, he’s already thinking ahead, hoping to get a full custom paint job done soon. His favorite part? The custom metalwork inside the bed that gives it that clean, factory look.

“Just dive into it,” he advises anyone looking to build their own ride. “The Ram’s not the easiest, but it’s got the cleanest body style.”
