Up next Betty’s Transformation: The Journey of Evan Oliver and His 1982 Chevy C10 Published on August 22, 2024 Author Grant Cox Share article Facebook 0 Twitter 0 Mail 0 Legacy on Wheels: Brandon’s Dream F-150 Build Brandon’s Dream F-150 BRANDON grew up in the world of hot rods and trucks, a passion he shared with his father, who owned and operated A-1 Auto Body in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, for over 40 years. The shop was a cornerstone of the community, known for its meticulous craftsmanship and high-quality work. Brandon inherited this legacy in 2021 when he bought the shop from his dad, transforming it into a platform for realizing his automotive dreams. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter Over the years, Brandon had built several impressive trucks, one of which was even featured in Sport Truck magazine when he was in his 20s. With a series of cool builds under his belt and his business taking up most of his time, Brandon decided it was time for a new project. At the end of December 2021, he special-ordered a new Ford F-150, intending to create something extraordinary. He knew just who to call to make his vision a reality: the team at Phat Phabz. Brandon sat down with the sales team at the Ford dealership and customized the F-150 with every available feature, sparing no expense. Once the order was placed, he contacted Jake from Phat Phabz to schedule the build and get the custom wheels ready. With Jake, Sean, and Randy onboard for the sheetmetal work, Brandon knew his truck was in the best hands. After the truck arrived, Brandon’s body shop team got to work, meticulously handling the final body and paintwork, returning it to its original Space White color. The truck was set to debut in the AccuAir booth at the Lone Star Throwdown (LST) show, but Brandon felt it needed something extra to truly stand out. That’s when “Gooch”McCoy, a longtime friend and a master of paint and graphics, stepped in. Two weeks before the LST show, the truck was on display at the AKZONOBEL trade show booth, showcasing the high-quality paint materials used. Once the show concluded, Brandon and his team brought the truck back to the shop and began disassembling it for the final touches. Gooch received a text from Brandon with a detailed drawing of the paint scheme. By Monday morning, Gooch was hard at work, spending over 200 hours meticulously applying the intricate paint and graphics design. The result was a truck that perfectly blended old-school mini-truck aesthetics with modern luxury and performance. Brandon’s decision to take a brand-new truck and void all warranties was a testament to his dedication to the craft and his roots in the custom truck community. This build wasn’t just about a truck; it was about creating a rolling piece of art—a dream realized through countless hours of hard work and the collaboration of talented friends and colleagues. As the F-150 rolled into the LST show, it was clear that Brandon’s vision had come to life. The truck wasn’t just a showstopper; it was a testament to his journey from a young truck enthusiast to a master builder, carrying forward his father’s legacy while forging his own path in the world of custom automobiles.
