SERGEANT SQUARE UPDATE | Build, Sell, Donate!

Street Trucks magazine has an exciting announcement to make! In a philanthropic partnership with Mission 22, we’re embarking on a one-of-a-kind charity project to raise funds for this remarkable non-profit organization. Rather than create a military-themed truck or gifting a vehicle to a deserving service member, we have enlisted the expertise of a top truck designer to fashion the most desirable Chevy Squarebody on the planet—Sergeant Square.

The 1985 Chevy Squarebody pickup truck will be restored to award-winning standards using an extensive network of automotive parts manufacturers and supporters. The profits generated from the sale of the truck will be donated to Mission 22, a charity that aims to raise awareness about veteran suicide. To maximize the impact of the charity initiative, Street Trucks will unveil the completed truck at SEMA 2023, providing a complete reveal to an enthusiastic audience.

…the initiative promises to be a remarkable success, raising funds for a worthy cause while showcasing the very best in automotive design.

Street Trucks has already made significant strides in the project by sourcing a brand-new chassis, ordering parts from LMC truck, and assembling a front suspension from QA1 suspensions. The team has also selected the wheels and engine to create the ultimate Squarebody stud. For more updates on the project, you can visit www.sergeantsquare.com. Additionally, for those who wish to know more about the Mission 22 charity, visit their website at www.mission22.com. Overall, the initiative promises to be a remarkable success, raising funds for a worthy cause while showcasing the very best in automotive design.

01. Sergeant Square: the ultimate Squarebody pickup truck designed to make a difference. Restored to perfection for a worthy cause—Mission 22.
02. With a completely custom chassis and all new bedsides, we can start to see the stance of the truck. Now we have to slip the new axle in and weld it to the link bar brackets.
03. Thanks to Jason at VanNatta Fabrication, the Sergeant Square project now has a 9-inch rearend axle housing complete with axles and stock pads to upgrade the C10 pickup. With enhanced strength and performance, this top-quality product from Speedway Motors is sure to make a difference in the project’s success.

04. With the donation of a 9-inch rearend axle housing from Jason at VanNatta Fabrication, the Sergeant Square project is one step closer to completion. The next task at hand is to weld the new axle to the sturdy axle brackets provided by All American Chassis.

The 1985 Chevy Squarebody pickup truck will be restored to award-winning standards using an extensive network of automotive parts manufacturers and supporters.

05. Before we can weld the new rearend axle housing to the provided brackets, we need to prepare the surface by grinding off the powdercoat material. This will ensure that the weld has solid penetration and results in a strong and durable connection. Attention to detail is key in the Sergeant Square project, and we are committed to getting every step right for a successful outcome.
06. To ensure optimal performance and handling, the Sergeant Square project will utilize parallel 4-link bars to adjust the pinion angle and straighten the axle. This innovative design allows for easy adjustments and provides greater control over the vehicle’s performance. With this advanced suspension system, the team is confident that the C10 pickup will be a standout performer.
07. The Sergeant Square project is about to get a major power boost with the uncrating of a brand new 6.2-liter LS3 engine! This powerful motor, rated at 430 horsepower, comes complete with a 6L80E automatic transmission and a 2,400 rpm torque converter, all part of the Chevrolet Performance Connect and Cruise Kit. With this advanced powertrain system, the C10 pickup will have plenty of muscle to take on any challenge. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build and modify this impressive truck.
