Motortopia Showoff Series Stage 4 at Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing

Sunny Days and Trucks That Lay

Stage 4 of the Motortopia Showoff Series took place at Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, Florida, where the weather was perfect, the trucks were top notch, and free entry to the museum was icing on the cake. A few hundred auto enthusiasts from all over the country relaxed and enjoyed two full days fun. Because this event is open to all makes and models, it was impressive to see trucks take over the show field. Something else that was impressive: all the amazing classic Volkswagen vehicles that arrived in style. Shout out to The VDub Factory for organizing the crew.

Those who attended scored the additional perk of an afternoon gearhead chat with one of the most famous automotive icons on the planet—Big Daddy Don Garlits. He not only lives in Ocala, but he also plays a big role at the museum. For some, getting a video of Don Garlits checking out your trucks and giving you a thumbs-up would be more meaningful than any trophy we had available. This event, however, was offering more than just a trophy. Trucks competed for cold hard cash: $2,500 to be exact!

The winning truck was one of the most notorious trucks in the show scene, the truck that other trucks are inevitably afraid of. It’s owned by a man who give the word “meticulous” a whole new meaning. No Compromize is a truck you may or may not have seen in Street Trucks in the past. Use the QR code to see the full truck feature article online. The Showoff Series is coming back this May, so we hope to see you there!
