Up next Building a 2wd Lifted Chevy C10 Squarebody – Part 1 Published on May 31, 2022 Author Chris Hamilton Share article Facebook 0 Twitter 0 Mail 0 All the best Mini-Trucks from Slamfest XXX The 30th year of this fun Florida-based event was no disappointment! An epic turnout forced the Mini Madness crew to close vehicle registration early on Saturday due to filling up the fairgrounds at Florida State Park in Tampa, Florida. This weekend long, non-motor sport event is perfect for any gearhead family with vehicles from all sides of the custom scene showing up and showing off! This also happens to be one of the top car-audio competitions in the country, but we were more focused on the classic trucks that were laid out all over the property getting a suntan. Anything you could possibly imagine was at this event, from fully custom to fully restored and quite a few daily driver classic trucks, which excites us the most! This event packs in some trucks, including inside the fairground’s convention center where some super high-end builds can be seen. With it being in a very north central location in Florida, trucks from all over the country came out, and their drivers left with smiles on their faces and a few new friends in their phone. This is one of those shows you go to and get hooked instantly. The Street Trucks team tries to make it out to support this crew each and every year, and the organizers are always glad to see us come through the gates. They’ve been supporting the industry for 30 years now, and that’s pretty special considering that Street Trucks is 22 years old. We thought we were the old guys!Subscribe to our weekly newsletter This is a once-a-year event, so we implore you to go online, follow Mini Madness and get the dates for the 2022 event. You won’t be the only truck fan out there, and we can assure you’ll find something that impresses you. It’s just another great event that doesn’t need some type of high-performance motor sport activity to prove that enthusiasts just want to hang out with other enthusiasts, even if it’s just in a parking lot with a pop-up chair. Check out the photos and let us know which truck you plan to bring next year. We will be there—hope to see you! This year’s show displayed more than 350 colorful customs for the Saturday gathering. Registered vehicles each received a raffle ticket for the chance to go home with a unique aluminum Kahuna Wagon. Participant judging determined the award winners along with a special award selected by Garlits. Winners this year were Stuart Cofer’s 1956 F-100 as the F-100 Builder’s Guide Choice, Mel White’s 1997 Chevrolet Silverado captured the OBS Builder’s Guide Choice, and Shane McAdams’ 2018 black Silverado won the Street Trucks Best of Show. Don Garlits made James Scott’s day by choosing his red and black 1940 Chevy as his personal favorite. The Garlits location has already been booked for next year.
