Coilover Conversion, Front and Rear

With these all-new, engineered-from-scratch systems, racers no longer have to rely on salvage yards or internet auctions to modernize an F-100. QA1 is releasing front and rear coilover conversion systems for 1967-1972 Ford F-100s.

With a front system that’s narrower than a Crown Vic, fitment of larger wheels and tires is no longer an issue, so racers can bolt in the handling and performance they’ve always wanted—and use those larger wheels and tires they’ve been eyeing. The system also saves 120 pounds of weight on the front end and provides 4-7 inches of drop.

In the rear, QA1 engineered a unique torque arm design that maximizes performance without the inherent binding issues of other systems, all while achieving 4-7 inches of drop. This bolt-in system also offers unprecedented adjustability: the Panhard bar, torque arm, trailing arms, bracket mounts and shocks are all adjustable, and they are truly independent of each other, so you don’t have to worry about one adjustment affecting another.

Everything you need is included in each system, all the way down to the hardware. The front system includes upper and lower control arms, upper and lower crossmembers, adjustable coil-over shocks and springs, plus rack and pinion steering and spindles. The rear includes a panhard bar and brace, adjustable coil-over shocks and springs, a torque arm with axle mount and crossmember, and adjustable trailing arms.

Both systems use QA1 shocks, with the choice between our single adjustable, double adjustable or new MOD Series shocks with interchangeable modular valve packs. All QA1 shocks are 100% dyno tested and serialized.

Grounded Chassis

TCI Engineering introduces the 1948-1956 Ford F-100 Grounded Chassis. The rear frame rails have been kicked up and the front crossmember has been raised to put the running boards 1 inch off the ground with 26-inch (front) and 28-inch (rear) tall tires. The frame features main rails with an extended height from 6 inches to 8 inches for increased rigidity. Clearance between upper and lower x-members is maximized while still retaining the original frame profile. The center section is custom built for each chassis to match the customer specified engine and transmission. Frame rails are fixture welded with all mounting hardware installed before being fully enclosed. All edges are ground smooth to give a clean appearance.

The four-link bars were moved up the side of the frame to keep proper geometry at the new super low ride height. TCI placed the link bars and lower shock attachments outside the frame rails to maximize roll resistance. The tapered rear airbags provide maximum lift and travel while also being capable of higher loads and a comfortable ride.

TCI paid special attention with the modified front crossmember to ensure proper geometry for comfort and performance. The company used a double convoluted bag in the front to provide maximum lift and travel. An external shock and bump stop provide safety and comfort. The complete chassis includes with hand fabricated ¼-inch stainless air lines along with 3/16-inch brake lines and hoses. Optional Ridetech Ride Control X systems and tanks are also available.

TCI Engineering recently release its Pickup Pro-Touring IFS made to fit 1948-1964 Ford F-100 pickup stock chassis. The company took what it learned from more than a decade of autocross and road racing and integrated that technology into a new 1953-1956 Ford F100 Pro-Touring IFS.

TCI uses its custom designed spindles with bolt on steering arms to allow its designers to maximize all performance aspects of suspension geometry, including camber gain, bump steer, Ackerman angle, scrub radius, kingpin inclination, instant center and more. Big Block Brackets

Vintage Air unveiled six new bracket kits for big-block Ford 351M-400 and 429-460 engines. These kits include compressor brackets and OEM, Saginaw and T.C. (Type II) power steering add-on brackets for 351M-400 and 429-460 big-block Ford engines. Additionally, an Alternator Low Mount Bracket Kit for 429-460 big-block Ford engines is available.

The Ford 351M-400 and 429-460 Compressor Bracket Kits are simple and economical solutions to get Ford-powered classics air-conditioned without having to source hard-to-find OEM brackets.

There are three different power steering pump add-on kits available for big-block Ford 351M, 400, 429 and 460 engines—OEM, Saginaw and T.C. (Type II). Each add-on kit requires Vintage Air compressor bracket kit 137000 or 137020 for mounting.

The OEM Power Steering Add-on Kit supports Ford pumps from 1965–’96 and requires pulley D0OR-B or D0AR-A.

The Saginaw Power Steering Add-on Kit requires a Dorman 300-122 single-groove pulley due to the larger shaft size or equivalent pulley. A Ford pulley could also be bored out to 0.746-inch to fit the shaft.

The Ford T.C. (Type II) Power Steering Add-on Kit works with Vintage Air part number 851001 integral reservoir or 851002 remote reservoir pumps. For Ford T.C. (Type II) Power Steering Add-on Kits, the power steering pulley is designed for a pump with a 0.6647-inch O.D. shaft. Some modification or re-plumbing of the pressure and return lines may be required to retrofit to some engines. Hardline 852000 is recommended for the pressure side.

The Ford Low Mount Alternator Bracket Kit is only available for 429-460 engines.

All Ford bracket kits come with all necessary hardware included. It’s recommended to measure all pulleys to get the proper length V-belt for your application due to the wide range of accessory options and pulley diameters available.

The 2-Groove Water Pump Pulley and the 3-Groove Crankshaft Pulley Kit for Ford 429-460 engines fit 1968-’97 370, 429, and 460 cubic-inch engines. The offset design fits 1970–’72 429s including CJ, SC and PI and 1973-’79 F-Series 460, excluding Lincoln applications. The Ford 429-460 2-Groove Water Pump Pulley Kit is based on OEM part D0OR-B and comes with two standard grooves for accessories with an additional 0.250-inch groove for T/E(SMOG) applications. The Ford 429-460 3-Groove Crankshaft Pulley Kit is based on OEM part D0OE-6312-D and comes with three grooves for accessories. Both the 2-Groove and 3-Groove Ford 429-460 pulley kits work with 1970-and-newer water pumps.

The Ford 351M-400 3-Groove Crankshaft Pulley Kit is based on OEM part D0AE-6312-C3 and fits 1969–’82 351C, 351M and 400 engines. The offset design fits 1977-’79 Ford F-Series trucks and Broncos.

The Gen IV air conditioning system is Vintage Air’s most powerful and intelligent climate control system. It employs an exclusive, fully electronic microprocessor control system that eliminates cables or vacuum connections.
