Now we have spy photos of what seems to be a serious Chevy Silverado off-roader, which we will refer to as ZR2 like its little Colorado sibling.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The front offers the most clues to the truck’s increased capabilities. The hood has a huge bulge of camouflage, which we suspect may hide a big cowl like that on the Colorado ZR2. The front bumper, particularly when compared to a Trail Boss prototype seen earlier, seems to be turned up more at the edges for better clearance around the tires. The ZR2 doesn’t have the aerodynamic air dam either, which further aids clearance. Underneath is a deep and wide skid plate for protecting all the Silverado’s vulnerable mechanical bits. Here’s the Lordstown Motors Endurance race truck Lordstown will race it in the San Felipe 250 Lordstown Motors has revealed a rendering of the race truck they plan to enter in the San Felipe 250 off-road race in April. We’ve seen them testing the skateboard that underpins the pickup, but this is the first glimpse at what the finished race truck will look like. The answer, not surprisingly, is something very similar to a Lordstown Endurance pickup, but beefed up to tackle the unpaved terrain of Baja California, Mexico. While it doesn’t look all that different at first glance, closer examination reveals a few significant changes. Among them are the four powerful driving lights filling the space between the headlights and DRLs. It’s a nice integrated look that provides lumens without requiring a light bar across the grille or roof. The wheel arches have also been modified with wide fender flares to accommodate wheels and tires much larger than stock. While we’re not fans of black cladding on, say mall-crawlers, these look the part on an off-road race truck. Read More Here!! Cooper recalls 430K truck and SUV tires due to sidewall bulges DETROIT — Cooper Tire is recalling more than 430,000 truck and SUV tires in the U.S. because they can develop sidewall bulges that could lead to tire failure. The recall covers certain Discoverer, Evolution, Courser, Deegan, Adventurer, Hercules, Back Country, Multi-Mile, Wild Country and Big O tires in several sizes. ADVERTISEMENT The company says in documents posted Friday by U.S. safety regulators that the bulges can cause a sidewall separation. That can make the tires lose air rapidly, increasing the risk of a crash. Read More Here!!
