Rescheduled because of concerns over the coronavirus, the NSRA Southeast Street Rod Nationals came back strong with more than a thousand colorful vehicles, balmy Florida weather and enough automotive fun to keep attendees busy throughout the three-day weekend. The marvelous December temperatures in the low 70s attracted an enthusiastic crowd, all of whom were eager to resume enjoying the hobby. The event is always appreciated by the active northern contingent who makes the annual pilgrimage to the Sunshine State. Rather than languish in snow-covered garages, their classic rides joined the locals on display at the spacious facilities of the Florida State Fairgrounds, a perfect location with loads of indoor and outdoor display space.
Everyone who attends knows about the excitement that occurs on Sunday where the “NSRA Pick” vehicles line up at the Circle of Winners. The best of the best is on display where the owners and builders hear the applause from the crowd.
The annual event attracts pre-1990 specialty vehicles along with a large contingent of classics from the ’50s and an impressive collection of factory-produced high-horsepower machines from the ’60s and ’70s. The combination creates a truly unique mix of old and new vehicles, a treat that kept spectators entertained throughout the weekend. The number of classic pickups on display was a special treat. The tradeshow added another dimension with more than 40 manufacturers and dealers of specialty automotive equipment displaying their wares inside the spacious exhibit building. It was the perfect one-stop shopping opportunity to upgrade your ride with many dealers realizing the attention-getting power of having a classic truck in front of their booth. Outside, the dozens of swap meet vendors offered a whole new collection of purchase opportunities.
While at the event, drivers had the opportunity to schedule a free NSRA safety inspection for their rides where an experienced crew of experts analyzes your vehicle, providing a second set of eyes guaranteed to increase both your peace of mind and probably the value of your vehicle at trading time. Ladies enjoyed the Women’s World arts and crafts display.

It’s also the time where registered participants listen for their names to be called as part of the more than $54,000 worth of merchandise given away during the afternoon. In addition to merchandise, three lucky individuals always walk away with $2,000 more in their pockets than they came with!
