Mini-Truck Show Comes to Las Vegas One of the biggest talks of 2021 was will Mini-Truck Showdown happen? I am here to confirm that, oh yes, it happened alright! After countless meetings with Palace Station Casino and working out all of the logistics, the event went on and was a success. For the last two years, Cory Kerley and his club, Shattered Images, have hosted a more intimate car show in Bakersfield, California. Due to the pandemic and other various obstacles, they decided to move the event from California to Las Vegas. They were open to an opportunity to have a greater variety of vehicles and, of course, Vegas is always a rad place to meet your friends and cruise your ride down the LV Strip. For some of us, all we have is SEMA.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The 2021 Mini-Truck Showdown weekend was full of entertainment. It all started on Friday, April 30, with the kick-off party hosted by The Fab Lab, with special guest DJ Get Low on stage. Cars rolled in early to grab their prime spot for the weekend. Vendors set up for the first time since March 2020. It was awesome to see everyone come together again and have a rad time. On Saturday, May 1, it was officially roll-in time. Mini-trucks lined up waiting to enter the gate from all over the country. The side parking lot was packed with custom vehicles being buffed out for the judges and spectators. The final count was 253 vehicles—huge growth from the 167 vehicle event in California. There was also a 300-plus waitlist! Congrats to Cory and his team for dreaming big and making it happen given the challenges they faced. Aside from the mask mandate, the vibe was positive and humbling. Almost every hour of the show, something was going on: from the limbo contest sponsored by GMA’s Customs, a legendary bed dancing contest sponsored by Nu Mini’s, Mini Trucker Cult Wedding, and yes, Jamie and Denise got married on stage. The Bikini Contest was sponsored by Bagged N Nerdy Brand, Devious Customs, Rugged Radios, and Hammered Weekend Wear just to name a few. Congrats to Alex from Hogs & Heifers Saloon for being the first Ms. Mini-Truck Showdown Queen! One of the best gifts about this event is the pay-it-forward movement they have created with the Sean Mahaney Foundation. This foundation provides custom-made wheelchairs and accessories to children in need. These custom wheelchairs give children the freedom to be more comfortable with life’s challenges. The 2021 auction brought in almost $4,200, this will help so many! Special thanks to Donna Mahaney-Patrick for working hard at making families’ lives a little better, one part at a time! Also, RX2 Law Firm and Seductive Car Club for trying to buy it all! Special thanks to everyone who came out to support the show and didn’t think twice about how rad it was going to be!
